Text | The death of Kezia Firth, relict of the late Robert Garbutt, took place at the home of her daughter, Mrs Wm Hotson, Jordon Station, on Friday, Sept 10.
A couple of years ago she moved from Beamsville, and has since resided at Jordon. Her husband died on Nov 25th 1900. The late Mrs. Garbutt had reached the ripe old age of 78 years--in fact she was buried on her 78th birthday. She was well known and highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends. Death was due to dropsy and heart trouble. Of the family Mrs Hotson is the only surviving daughter. There are five sones viz; William and John of Beamsville; Wesley, Milwaukee; Robert and Franklin, Niagara Falls, NY. A short service was held on Monday at her daughters home in Jordon Station, and the remains were brought to the Methodist church here, where service was conducted by Rev Judson Truax, following which interment took place at Mount Osborne cemetary. |
